Today the Men's 2nd XI took on an XI from Fareham. Which XI is open to debate but let's move on from that.

As always Fareham were well drilled and skilful but for much of the first half, the men from Hamble stood firm and gave just as good as they got, both in defence and in attack, passing the ball around well. Unfortunately, Leroy's calf gave up the ghost very early on (earning him a dick of the day vote from the stone-hearted Stanley!). Fareham continued to press and scored two goals in quick succession, as well as a third before halftime.

The second half was just as competitive. Hamble marked their opponents doggedly and pressed Fareham all over the pitch. The final score was 4-0 but possibly the best team performance so far this season against a very strong opposition.

Man of the match was once again Jamie in goal. Just think how good he'll be when he grows a bit and can reach those high ones!! Mentions for Friezy who had a very strong performance throughout, and Mike Heaver although not enough to save him from dick of the day for some unorthodox aerials, tackling his own teammate and some very intricate moves unfortunately without the ball. But on the plus side, he lasted the whole game without getting injured!
