Game starts, team plays well. A few short passes between JD, OH and PB takes the ball up the right. Whistle for opposition foul. JD swiftly passes forward to PB who runs to the byline and wins short. TP bangs in goal. Minutes later, PB aerials to space. KW (MoM) intercepts at speed on a cross-field run, then arcs around a defender up to the right of the D. Lovely weighted cross is slotted past the keeper by MJ. Hey presto!

At that point B'stoke got into their stride and it became a case of keeping them out. Only one conceded by half-time due to loads of effort and good marking. Mostly the same story in the second half. The midfield harried, the back line repelled, Sootie gave a masterclass. Even so, by full-time they had scored two further goals, one a p-flick.
