It’s been a while coming but we finally got our first win of the season today against mid-table opposition Romsey. We came into the game with real confidence having taken Fareham to the wire last weekend and put all of the amazing hockey we played then into practice again today. Super strong midfield and defensive play, combined with dynamic running and chances being created from our attack meant we pushed Romsey hard.
Huge drama in the final moments as the game stood at 2-2. We won a short corner just as the final whistle went. 4 further short corners later and Mollie got the winner. Suffice to say the celebrations were worthy of a gold medal win ?
2 goals from Mollie Fry and a well converted penalty flick from Georgina Davis meant we came away with the full 3 points winning 3-2.
Player of the match went to Hannah Gover who dominated in midfield today.
Tit went to Mollie again this week for asking the umpire how long was left in the game when the whole defence were stood next to her for the final set of short corners ??♀️
Another brilliant team performance finally resulting in the big W means we go into next week full of confidence.
